Diane ... fever still high.
[Oh hi there Coop - been pretty quiet on the network lately, haven't you? And go figure that this time, it's a mistake to adress it anyway. But he's feverish enough not to question the fact that he's speaking into his Gear, not his usual audio recorder. He sounds tired and weak and somewhat scratchy, and like he has minor trouble articulating the words.]
Persistant pain and soreness in my back and ... [Lengthy, troubled pause.] ... I have to say, Diane, whatever these things are, they're causing me a lot of trouble.
Skin still turning rusty, although thankfully not in a literal sense. The patterns are similar to Lichtenberg figures, but I can't ...
[Trails off. Sighs.]
I find it difficult to think like this, much less speculate. Buddha once said that the mind can't be strong and clear if the body isn't kept in good health, but this is an illness I don't know how to fight.
I believe perhaps some air would do me good.
[ACTION for Ecruteak; He's out in the rain. For once, he's dressed very casually - t-shirt and jeans, actually - but that's not the most eye-catching thing right now. Like many others, he's got Symptoms. And his are of the Level 5 Fire variety. Skin is a mottled brown-red hue down his back and shoulders and upper arms, that are also lined with darker, feathery lines. Entei's influence is clear in the broken mask on his face and spikes down his back. He's not particularly happy ... but at least he's not the only one looking abnormal.]

[audio]
So an audio message it is, complete with chattering teeth!]
...Hey C-C-Cooper? Who's Diane?
[audio]
[That brief hesitation isn't because of the whole YEP I talk to a secretary far far away, it's because he backed out of calling her his secretary to begin with, figuring Hiccup might not know the word.]
[Coop himself feels better at this point, but he frowns as he listens to those chattering teeth.]
[audio]
[That was wise, Coop, because for as long as Hiccup has been in Johto, he's still relatively sheltered.]
I g-guess-s it's nice t-to talked to them every-y-y once in a-a while. People from h-home.
[Even if they couldn't hear it.]
[audio]
[Words just a tad thick in his mouth as he's getting used to his new teeth, he makes an assumption. Feels concerned.]
You're cold.
[audio]
[There's really no sense in denying it, what with his obvious shivering and the clicking of his teeth that it caused.]
B-but I'm under-r-r a lot-t of bl-l-lankets.
[audio]
[No duh, Coop.]
[He's silent for a moment, then just asks.]
How sick are you?
[audio->video]
He goes to reply, but Hiccup's never been a particularly good judge of himself, and with seeing all the other feeds on the network... He supposes it's easier to just flip to video. Congratulations, Coop. Possibly barring Thief Mom, you're the first to get a good look at Hiccup's new look.]
S-s-sick enough. How a-about y-you?
-- sick enough.
You look freezing.
[Not just referring to the cold, of course, but the ... iciness. Jesus, Hiccup. :c what's happening?]
[He would be jealous of how warm you look, Coop, had you clearly not been miserable yourself. At least he's used to cold, even if Berk didn't reach the low temperatures that now hung around him.]
I just h-hope this all e-ends-s s-soon.
Yeah, me too.
[It's with a sigh and a small rub at one of his eyes. An admission follows, that he might not have said so easily if he'd been feeling better.]
I'm worried.
I th-think we all are.
...D-did you end up g-going outside? It's-s r-raining, r-right?
No sign of letting up, I think.
It helped. For a while. .. though I'm not sure how well it would for you.
[Yeah, he doesn't really feel like getting bonked on the head by hail...]
I'm glad y-you're f-f-feeling better, though. Are you coming b-back s-soon-n?
[Another pause - man, he feels sluggish right now - as he looks out into the rain and seems to consider it. It started ... not quite hurting, a while ago, but it was uncomfortable suddenly. The previous reprieve fading.]
Yeah, I ... think I will.
Do you want the company?
Are you f-feeling up to it? You s-seem like you could-d-d use s-some rest.
So could you. But I don't think we'll find it so easily, do you?
N-n-not really. [Pause.] I w-wouldn't mind-d some company. If you wanted.
[The feed ends - it's a few minutes later that there's a knock on Hiccup's door.]
[action] i kept forgetting i was only halfway done with this tag, ahaha...
Hey.
[Hiccup's room has dissolved into something similar to his own situation--it's chilly, with frost creeping along the walls. No piles of snow just yet, but come tomorrow there will be many blizzards. Having Cooper around will probably be good for it.]
[action] get some sleep xD <3
[But he closes the door behind him after that second and enters the room, looking curiously at the details now when he spots them. The frost, especially. Hiccup himself, particularly. He looks like he suffers, and seeing his mutations up close, it's even more clear why.]
-- Hi yourself.
Did this..?
[He's not even sure what he's asking, but his telling look around the room might make it clear anyway.]
[action] AND THEN I SLEPT FOR THREE DAYS THE END, i wish...
The question brings him back, though, and makes him inspect his room. He doesn't know what Cooper's trying to ask, but...]
It s-s-started last n-night... F-from the cold.
[action] WELL I hope you're better now?
[As in - was it the boy's cold affecting the room, or the room affecting him? Coop guesses with certainty on the former, but he's never been one to assume.]
[He turns slowly in place, watches the room and the things in it, but his focus is on Hiccup much much more than anything else.]
