I made it to Cherrygrove yesterday, and I think I'll be quite content to stay here for a while. Since you've all been very helpful so far, I hope you'll take the time to answer this question, as well - where does one find a good cup of coffee around here? I'd really appreciate some cherry pie as well, but I'm going to assume that cherries are unheard of in this place. I certainly hope coffee is something attainable, though. At the very least, something that is similar to it.

[OOC: Action for anyone in Cherrygrove! He's hanging around sort of without purpose outside the pokémon center at the moment, looking at the sky with a frown.]

That fits the description, yes. Seemed quite timid.

[He keeps walking as he speaks, hands in coat pockets, checking the signs.]

[Shrugs] Typical of Canada.

[He's looking around - where is that bar dammit!? - frowning at the lack of...well...anything interesting in town.]

[Spotting a sign that looks promising, he stops and looks inside, and would you look at that, that seems like a bar indeed.]

I think we found our spot, Prussia.

[FUCK YES.]

There's something redeeming about this place after all!

[He nearly runs in, terribly excited for some alcohol.]

[Cooper follows in a much calmer fashion, not even that excited at the prospect of alcohol. Coffee is much better. He doesn't respond to what Prussia said but seems sort of bemused.]

[He's already sitting at the bar, arguing with the bar tender, who didn't seem to have any "good" (aka German) beer on hand.]

[Cooper sits down next to him, listening to the argument but not adding anything to it, and saying he's fine and doesn't need anything when the bartender asks him what he wants. He muses a little on Prussia's behaviour - then again, given the country's history, that would probably be understandable.]

How does your world work? [He waits for the argument to settle before asking this, but does so with interest.] Regarding the countries, I mean. Where do you live, if you are the countries?

[He grudgingly accepts the inferior beer, immediately feeling better after taking a sip. He looks at the other man bemusedly, and puts down his tankard.]

We live in our respective countries. [He says this like it's the most obvious thing in the world, albeit teasingly.] We choose wherever we want within our own borders. [Unless we are unlucky enough to have a tyrannical leader, but he leaves that unsaid.]

[Cooper nods, pondering this. Such strange workings of a world.]

Then, how are you a country? Or are you more similar to embodied representations of it?

We just are. [He shrugs. It was as simple as that.]

[ff sorry Cooper, he's not the best nation to come to for explaining this.]

[Coop can tell! But he still appreciates the scraps of information he can get.]

Alright ... Thank you. I'd like to understand as much as possible, so excuse me if I'm asking too much.

[Small smile.]

[Prussia just makes a motion that indicates "Don't worry about it" as he takes another drink from his tankard. As long as he thinks you're alright, he doesn't really mind answering questions. In fact, it's feeding his ego that Cooper is taking such an interest.]

Not many humans believe, or understand. [Smirks.]

[Haha, enjoy the ego-feeding. Cooper takes an interest to everything. He raises his eyebrows at that last comment.]

Really. So normal humans do occur in your world as well?

[Prussia will keep him around then~ He looks at Cooper incredulously.]

There is no nation without their people.

[He nods once, slowly.]

Of course. Pardon my confusion about the topic. I'm not sure I understand how it works, physically. In my world, a country is simply land mass.

The landmasses are there, as well as us.

[He pauses to gather his thoughts. It's not often someone believes him long enough to ask for explanations.]

A nation represents the people, culture, and government of that country, existing as long as they continue. [He smiles almost bitterly, the dissolution still fresh in his mind.]

[He nods. Yes, again.]

So what would happen to you, if they didn't? [He stops for a second, then adds a quick] Sorry if I'm intrusive.

[He replies mechanically.]

You disappear.

[Well... Cooper doesn't know too much about Prussia as a country, honestly, but he can definitely sense the strain here. He's quiet for a while.]

You okay?

[He takes a swig of beer before answering with a crooked smirk.]

I'm always great.

[He smiles at that.]

You're alright.

[He slaps Cooper on the shoulder.]

Get it right, I'm awesome!

[Cooper chuckles slightly, and stands, touching Prussia's shoulder in response.]

Certainly. I should leave now, though. Thanks for the conversation.

[He just grins and waves.]

Maybe I'll grace you with my presence another time.

[He smiles sort-of fondly at the comment. He thinks he likes this man, odd as he might be.]

Absolutely. Have a good one.

[He doesn't wave but rather gives a parting nod before leaving the bar.]
