I personally have an idea that this might be some kind of experiment. Who or what is monitoring it or what they're researching, though, I obviously know as little about as you do.
Ah, yes - time is certainly something of interest here. Most people I have met are from the future, at least seen from my perspective. The only explanation I can think of is that we'll be returned to the exact same point in time we were taken, once all of this is over - perhaps with our memories erased somehow.
I hope that won't happen, though. This place is definitely something I'd want to remember.
