[If you're around ... wherever he is, but it's out in the woods somewhere, you might hear gunshots. And if you're curious enough to see what's up, you'll see that Coop evidently has his gun back and is shooting at targets. Where they're from is a mystery, but he's making the best of their presence - his skills have waned some in the years he's been stuck in pokémonland, but it's evident the longer he's at it, the more confidence and skill shows in his shooting.]
[Until he's at the point where he's consistently hitting the bullseye in every single target every single time.]
[Yeah, he's that good. He could shoot you a pattern if you like.]
[... and there magically seems to be ammunition around whenever he needs it, so hey.]
(Action absolutely anywhere as per usual - feel free to just bump into him wandering if you prefer. COME AT ME.)

[Although after he's found the man shooting and backwings to land nearby, he does wonder at someone shooting at nobody all by themselves. Perhaps he's lost as well? And his uniform is nothing Temeraire has ever seen, but it doesn't look French, so he probably isn't an enemy.]
[But here, Cooper, have an 18 tonne dragon leaning down towards you.]
Have you lost your company?

[But somehow, there's also an interesting sense of calm about all this, for now. The dragon appears to be far from hostile and Cooper believes in that feeling.]
I think most of us have.
[He speaks with respect, of course. It's impossible to adress a creature like this anything else (not counting fear, but he sees no reason for that one). His gun is holstered at this point. It doesn't feel right to keep on hand in this kind of company.]

Are there quite a lot of lost dragons and people here? [There's a quiet note of worry leaking into his voice, and his tail twitches. He raises his head briefly to look over the surrounding area, before lowering it again to speak to the man.]
It doesn't look much like England.

[The dragon would probably have a better idea, at least if some of the myths are true, but the questions are spoken by someone who doesn't know a whole lot about the current situation, either.]
And you're the only dragon I've met so far.
[Not counting the pokémon, which he isn't, right now; they're different from this one. Not to mention at home in this world.]

[He's leaned a little more forward, and is clearly hoping that the answer to this is 'yes of course I have'. Temeraire doesn't like the idea at all that he might be the only one. Having Lily or Maximus, or even a strange dragon around would be nice about now.]

Not in my world. I don't beleive anyone there has seen a dragon outside of legends and fairytales.
[Which means it's surreal and something of an honour to stand before this creature. More importantly, though, the disctintion of "my world" could help. This dragon could be simply lost just like the rest of the people here.]

[He's sounding pretty dismayed about this news. The man sounds as though he's telling the truth, so Temeraire has to believe that he's either from some other place or mad, because as far as he knows there isn't a single country on his Earth without dragons. He mutters--quietly as far as he's concerned, but it isn't actually very quiet.] I don't believe I'd like to go there.
[Then, he draws himself up a little. Laurence wouldn't like to see him sulking too much in front of a stranger, even if he wasn't here to see.] I am Temeraire, of His Majesty's Aerial Corps.

[Cooper isn't sure how to properly greet a dragon, but he bows his head slightly in a gesture that seems the most appropriate.]
It is an honor to meet you, Temeraire. I wish I could be of more help.
[He has a title, too, but it feels meaningless right now.]
I'm Dale Cooper.

Do you think so, really? I should very much like to get back to Laurence soon.
[He's still clearly upset about not being able to find him, but at least he's relaxing some at the news. He lays down, like a casual, but still elegant, sphinx, and nods his head at the introduction.]
It is very nice to meet you, Cooper. Are you in a military? I had heard you shooting before.

[The fact that the dragon he's talking to remains a dragon is proof of his being there is temporary, so that should be at least somewhat reassuring. He shifts a bit when Temeraire does, sidesteps to keep his face in front of him before he answers quite simply,]
No. Just the police.
no subject
Thank you very much for telling me so.
[He tilts his head curiously at the police response. He's not really familiar with the term, but he's clearly interested.]
What do the police do?
