I've been thinking about the significance of our first pokémon. I find it hard to believe the species given to us are random.
[A brief pause. He's been bothered by this ever since his arrival, actually.]
The initial reaction on meeting your first is important, whether it was fear, familiarity, anger, amusement, or the more unlikely indifference. Then there is of course the more pressing question: why were we given these particular ones?
I'd appreciate your thoughts.

As long as we keep on, um, working on returning home and understanding our prediciment... the mystery shall be solved. Um, hopefully soon.

[Or really? He's feeling torn at the idea of leaving. But he'll still try to work to find a way home - unfinished business, as, well, practically everyone on Route has.]
I have no doubt that we will get an answer in time. But as you say, it would be nice if it was sooner rather than later.
