Well, nothing outrageous has happened to him (that he wants to talk about, anyway), and he hasn’t had anything interesting to tell or show you guys (the trees in Goldenrod are clearly inferior to those in Ilex, pfff), but here he is again, with an inquiry which might make you recall the one from two months ago. Brought to you in the business-like voice you all know (and love?).]

I’d like to know what you were doing prior to your arrival here. And I’m not talking about occupations or roles in society but the more immediate moments leading up to finding yourself in this world. The replies I received to my last question to the network indicates that our starters are somehow significant and perhaps more information can be gathered about our current situation from the circumstances we were in before being brought here.

Oh, and I almost forgot. If anyone in or near Goldenrod comes across a Manectric that answers to Tricia, she belongs to me. While she has been excited about the rain I did not imagine she would be resourceful enough to find a way to escape my hotel room in order to be out in it. But that only goes to show that you should always double-check your windows if you prefer to keep your pokémon outside of their pokéballs.

[YEAH, his Manectric somehow got out through a window. ~~(Spoiler: Coop's Vulpix is some kind of hyper-intelligent prodigy and opened it.)~~ A good thing Coop’s floor isn’t very high up and that the Manectric has more lives than she has the right to have, considering she’s not, in fact, a cat with nine ones to spare. Feel free to find/have spotted her and tell Coop about it! (several of you can, I'm not very picky about suchthings.)]

I've certainly not heard of any. Perhaps it has something to do with their ability to mate with practically anything.

Most likely. If we were all like that I imagine we would also take advantage of such an ability.

I would not. My marriage is too happy to be risked with such indiscretions. Mating with other species might work well in some cases, but not always.

Edward, Rydia and Rosa from home, plus the Warrior of Light and Bartz from the Conflict. Five in total, not counting all the friends I have made here. ...But there were others, before. They've all disappeared.

I'm not very surprised. It seems a lot of people do.

I wonder what makes some the sole person from their world while others find friends, acquaintances or enemies here.

Some worlds might be harder to reach, somehow. Has yours ever been in contact with others? That might influence our arrivals.

No, I don't think it has. Has yours?

A little. We've had minimal contact with at least two races from other planets, and a small part of the world was part of a conflict that involved many other lands. But we do not have a direct connection to other worlds.

Some people in my world believe in a spirit world. An alternate realm. Lately I'm starting to believe it does exist but I'm not sure how that would relate to Johto, if it does.

...You could consider Ghost-type Pokémon spirits, but I doubt that's what the people of your world meant.

I would consider the Ghost-types spirits. They seem to share a few traits with the traditional kind.

I find them to be quite different from both types of spirits that exist in my world. What traits do they share with yours?

Taking possession of people and communicating and acting through them.

How do they differ from yours?

They differ from the monsters we call spirits in that they do not try to kill us on holy mountains. They differ from other spirits by not being remnants of our deceased loved ones.

[Which is admittedly an important difference.]

Someone was possessed by a ghost pokémon not too long ago. It forced him to act in a very self destructive way. While the holy mountains might not play part here, some ghosts do seem to be manevolent in nature.

But I guess it is reassuring to not think of ghost pokémon as ghosts in the traditional sense.
