[So, Johto. Haven’t heard things from Coop’s end for a while now, have you? Well, nothing outrageous has happened to him (that he wants to talk about, anyway), and he hasn’t had anything interesting to tell or show you guys (the trees in Goldenrod are clearly inferior to those in Ilex, pfff), but here he is again, with an inquiry which might make you recall the one from two months ago. Brought to you in the business-like voice you all know (and love?).]

I’d like to know what you were doing prior to your arrival here. And I’m not talking about occupations or roles in society but the more immediate moments leading up to finding yourself in this world. The replies I received to my last question to the network indicates that our starters are somehow significant and perhaps more information can be gathered about our current situation from the circumstances we were in before being brought here.

[Again – he’s investigating.]

[And that sounds like it might be all, but wait! There’s more.]

Oh, and I almost forgot. If anyone in or near Goldenrod comes across a Manectric that answers to Tricia, she belongs to me. While she has been excited about the rain I did not imagine she would be resourceful enough to find a way to escape my hotel room in order to be out in it. But that only goes to show that you should always double-check your windows if you prefer to keep your pokémon outside of their pokéballs.

[YEAH, his Manectric somehow got out through a window. (Spoiler: Coop's Vulpix is some kind of hyper-intelligent prodigy and opened it.) A good thing Coop’s floor isn’t very high up and that the Manectric has more lives than she has the right to have, considering she’s not, in fact, a cat with nine ones to spare. Feel free to find/have spotted her and tell Coop about it! (several of you can, I'm not very picky about suchthings.)]

[If anyone wants Action, he’s hanging around the Goldenrod hotel lobby with a cup of coffee and a bunch of papers.]

(video until otherwise stated!)

(As far as people being taken from catastrophes go, Cecil's removal from the path of a falling moon stands at the forefront of Arthur's mind.)

Were you?

We're fortunate to have your assistance, then. I can't think of a stranger occurrence than everything that happens in this world. (Really, he can't. Considering the strangeness of the things that happen in his home world, this is pretty significant.)

Have your investigations about what happened to people before they arrived turned anything up, yet?

[identity profile] prideofcamelot.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. (Arthur takes a moment to think that over. While he agrees that it's a good idea to gather information, he isn't as convinced about the relevance of this line of questioning in particular.)

What was the reasoning behind asking what people were doing before they were taken?

[identity profile] prideofcamelot.livejournal.com 2011-04-05 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
(Oh.)

Like some...magical event of sorts?

[identity profile] prideofcamelot.livejournal.com 2011-04-05 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I should think not, if most people were taken from sleep. (Arthur's shoulders sink a little in disappointment, but he's been here long enough to not be too floored by this development.)

How are you holding up, personally?

...Come on, second line of dialog. I KNOW YOU WANT TO BE VISIBLE.

The lack of snow doesn't hurt, either, (he reflects, grimacing slightly at the memory of the winter they've been battling through.) Your pokémon hasn't yet returned to you since your first broadcast?

(When the attention turns to his own affairs, he shrugs.)

"On edge" as well, I suppose. Merlin and I are setting off for Violet soon to challenge Falkner–– I'm anticipating a worthy opponent.

Glad to hear it. (And he is, really. He understands the troubles that Dem Pokemans can put their trainers through.)

He should, if what I've heard of him holds any weight. Have you fought him, yet?

...it... seems to be okay now, thankfully?

At present I have a Charizard, Flareon and a Growlithe. (This is offered with a note of pride.) I've been told that Faulkner uses Flying-type pokémon, exclusively.

[identity profile] prideofcamelot.livejournal.com 2011-04-05 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Fire type pokémon possess the greatest sheer strength. (Or so he thinks.) As essential as finesse is, strength is fortitude and a quality that any pokémon team can't afford to be without.

(He thinks about this for a moment.)

Water-type pokémon, correct?

[identity profile] prideofcamelot.livejournal.com 2011-04-05 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
...Great. (Slight frown. WHY IS HE STILL SO BAD AT THIS????)

So I should capture water and ground types to round out my party's weaknesses?

(GOD COOP GET A HOBBY)

As does strength, but I see your point. (This will be something to mull over later, definitely. Absently, he adds,) In this way, it seems pokémon strategy parallels many aspects of the worlds outside Johto.
