Does anyone else play Tetris?

_{[Guess who finally discovered the game apps on his 'gear! And guess who's been playing the games ever since! Spoiler: this guy. Cooper sounds pretty excited, actually, in that almost kid-like way that the ones who know him will probably recognise. He speaks fast and chipper.]}

Damn good game. Very engaging, very challenging. I've yet to get past the 100 lines mark, but I'd very much like to believe I'm getting there.

_{[Beat. You know, sometimes he really doesn't want to be here, but this games-in-the-gears-thing certainly picked him up.]}

Falling puzzle pieces _[:D] ... that Minesweeper game isn't half bad, either. And if I've got my facts right there are more games available for purchase at the PokéMarts. So, Network: any recommendations?

_{[You should be able to HEAR the grin in his voice, seriously.]} Nothing like a good game to keep you occupied.

_[Action_{for anyone in Ecruteak! You're likely to find him somewhere in the middle of town on a park bench or something, cross-legged with an Eevee asleep in his lap, playing Tetris on his 'gear like a boss.]}

[ Leon purses his lips, wrinkling his nose at Coop. Hey now, you're going to get him into trouble. THEIR RELATIONSHIP STATUS IS SHAKY, OK. ]

...why don't we head inside?

[Lightning hears that note of something in Coop's voice and turns to smirk at Leon, ready with a comment about that, but the look on his face draws her up short. Finding out why Leon made that face has just become her top priority. Well. Second top priority; she'll be thinking on it over coffee, at any rate.]

We should, before it gets anymore crowded.

[Not that it seems to be very crowded today, but still. Best to move along, which is precisely what Lightning will be doing, still side by side with Leon when they make their move.]

_{[Nodding his agreement, Cooper enters first but lingers to hold the door momentarily, far from the kind to release it into other people's faces.]

[He's been here frequently the past few weeks. The coffee isn't as good as Cherrygrove or Goldenrod, but the chocolate cake is surprisingly good and definitely well worth the money.]

[Picking out a table near a window - round, four chairs - he shrugs his coat off to drape across the back of one of them. It's starting to show how much he's used that coat, lately, but he has a hard time parting from it.]}

So when are you planning on moving on?

[ Without really thinking, he pulls out Light's seat as well before momentarily taking his own. His jacket lands in the pile with Coop's coat. ]

That's a good question. [ Glancing at Lightning. ] Before the middle of October, I think. We wanted to stay and admire the leaves a bit.

[ Ecruteak is kind of gorgeous, after all. ]

[Lightning coat takes its place on the top of that pile as she takes her seat, nodding and smiling faintly at Leon as she sits down, returning that glance for a moment before looking over at Coop to answer the question.]

No later than the twentieth, I think. We'll need to get moving before the weather has a chance to get bad and lock us in here.

[Cause she doubts it would be as gorgeous under nine feet of snow or whatever else Johto will throw at them this time. Though, for now, she is content to stay put; it really is beautiful out there.]

Sounds like a wise decision. Weather has a way to go a little crazy in this world.

_{[Or boing-oing-oing, as his boss would have put it. He doubts no one forgot the snow storm last year - but worse was what happened on Halloween, and he sincerely hopes there will be no repeat of that particular incident.]

[But at the moment, things do seem fairly calm, and he's going to take the time to kick back and enjoy it.]}

You've been in Ecruteak for a while now, haven't you? It must agree with you.

[ Brb scanning the menu. Chocolate cake, when was the last time he'd had chocolate cake? That sounds heavenly. He glances at Light, tilting the menu so that she can look at the selection. ]

[That chocolate cake does indeed sound heavenly, and with coffee, even better. While the guys talk, she'll just be keeping an ear on the conversation as she turns in her seat to search for a waitress. Ah, there's one. Conversation and coffee with Leon and a possible new friend...not much could make an afternoon better in this town.]

_{[He's thinking along the same lines as her. Nice, quiet days days like these should be spent with good food and good company.]}

Maybe I've just been lucky.

_{[Noting that Lightning seems to have gotten the attention of that waitress, he leans forward slightly as he keeps talking. He knows what he's having even without the menu.]}

I got here mid-august so I suppose it has been a while. I'll probably stay for Halloween and then head for Olivine after taking a stab at the Gym.

Janine's no pushover. That Steelix of hers...I hope you've got a decent Fire-type on your arsenal.

[ He pauses when the waitress catches his attention, ordering a slice of chocolate cake and...a latte. A decaf latte. Judging by the way his eyes are prowling the table, he's expecting some kind of mocking. HE DOESN'T DO THE BLACK COFFEE THING, OKAY. That and it's the afternoon, he'd like to sleep tonight. ]

Water-types could also work, but that Steelix is faster than it looks. You'll have to be able to react quickly even if you have the type advantage.

[If Leon is looking for some kind of mocking, he's not going to find it in Lightning's face. Along with her own slice of cake, she's ordered a decaf cup of black coffee. Sleeping troubles? Oh, she's got enough of those without adding caffeine to the mix.]

_{[Cooper isn't a stranger to sleeping troubles himself, which is precisely why he's going to go for a cup of pure black - "and I mean black, blackest you've got". Ordering that with a slice of cake and ice cream on the side is a bit of a routine at this place and the waitress probably already knew what he was having, but he shoots her a friendly smile as he rattles off his order anyway.]

[And though he'd not actually meant the Olivine gym (because he's pretty sure he's a bit underlevelled to take on Jasmine yet) he nods and takes note of the advice.]}

I'll focus on beating Morty first, but I'll keep that in mind. I take it you're also doing the gym challenge?

_{[Curiously directed at Lightning.]}

With their orders made, Lightning leaned back in her seat slightly as the waitress headed to get their food and drink. Coop's question had the pink-haired woman looking up, though, and she nodded. She did have a few left to get, after all.]

Yeah. I haven't fought Morty yet, but I might later on. Depends on if there's time.

[After all, things were being taken day by day. She'd need to see what tomorrow brought first, even if she had plans.]

_{[He hums lightly, agreeing.]}

Timing plays a big part in our lives.

_{[As does hard work, persistency and luck.]}

[ At that, his eyes fall to Lightning, very briefly. ]

It does. [ Back to Coop. ] I was lucky to have started construction on the house when I did...so many people disappeared over the summer, it gave me something to focus my energy on.

[ He motions to Coop, something of a smirk on his mouth. ] You'll have to visit. I'm not sure how cold Olivine gets in the winter, but it must be warmer than here.

[Lightning nods in response to Coop, catching Leons eyes on her for that brief moment but saying nothing about it. Timing isn't everything, but...well, it certainly helped them out a lot. And it would continue to do so, if they could plan things right and the weather held.]

It should be, since it's not on the northern coast. Being further south should keep it from freezing over if we get another blizzard.

[At least, that's how it worked in Bodhum. Sure, it got cold, but it never froze over completely.]

I'll be sure to visit. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to that party a while ago.

_{[He leans back with a somewhat apologetic smile. There had been a lot of bad timing involved in that, really.]}

[ Leon waves his hand dismissively, smiling a bit. ]

It was fun, but you didn't miss much. There'll be other parties; it is Minnie Mouse's house, after all.

[Lightning leans back in her chair, the very picture of eased relaxation as the waitress comes back with their orders, setting down plates and mugs with practiced ease.]

She'll probably hold some kind of party for Halloween or Christmas. You'll have plenty of chances to make the next one.

I'll look forward to that.

_{[And both the holidays mentioned. But that thought is completely lost with the arrival of cake and coffee, and he takes a moment to just breathe in the aroma from the cup he's given with a positively blissful expression. He gives the waitress a soft 'thank you' before taking a sip and looks very, very content with everything for those few seconds, humming lightly when the taste really hits.]

[Nothing like a cup of joe to keep you warm, is there? And Coop takes absolute pleasure in that.]}

Man, that's the stuff.
