016 [video] - backdated to monday
[And today, Violet City! Violet City on a damn fine morning, no less. But more importantly, an Eevee. A very playful one by the looks of it, as she's sort of darting around when Coop's trying to film her.]
I found this girl today. I'm fairly certain she belonged to Dee - call it a hunch. Dee's gone, but knowing her she'll probably show up around these parts again sooner rather than later.
[He sounds quite cheerful, saying this. Like most others he knows that he knows her, so her being gone doesn't trouble him all that much. Besides, it's a beautiful day, and he'll happily focus on that and the other little things:]
I'm back in Violet. [Audibly breathes the whole thing in as he films the area - a bit on the town outskirts, near the trees.] Man, I missed this town. Am quite looking forward to the hike back to Azalea, but that might be a while. I've been thinking I should try the gym now that I'm here so wish me luck on that one. Which reminds me -
[Camera pans and behold, a Wooper, looking like the most timid thing onEarth Johto.]
I believe this one needs more attention and care than I am able to give her at present. I don't feel it's fair to keep her in the computer for longer periods of time, so if anyone would like to take her in, I'd appreciate it. Bear in mind that she doesn't like fighting.
[...she's not claimed and she's a Wooper and who wants a Wooper anyway, but if anyone WOULD want her it'll be discussed ICly and stuff (and on a bit of a first-come first-serve basis). If no one wants her he's probably going to set her free which would be a-okay. :Db]
[Action for anyone in Violet! Feel free to run into him anywhere. /o/]

[Tone rather dry. Pff. He's really not sure what to make of it himself. HE IS PRETTY SURE HE IS REAL, but maybe it's all relative. Who knows.]
.... Well, I did meet Spider-Man here once...
There's Minnie Mouse. Batman was here. Maybe we're all fictional in one way or another.
[Doesn't mean he takes his case any less seriously. The fact that it might be fictional isn't halfway as jarring to him as the fact that this means people know about it.]
[She's already figured that's the case in one way or another-- but of course in that detached way, she still assumes that she's not from anything BUT real life. Probably better that way, really.]
Anyway.
[Now they're off-topic. Maybe he'll forget he was asking about Silent Hill. 8Ib.]
[Just wait until someone fourthwalls you, Heather. It's a weird experience.]
[And no, don't think so. Coop is a dedicated man. There's a not-really-smile as he goes back to it.]
It still means that I did go to a creepy little backwoods town [deliberate quote is deliberate] to investigate what was going on there. I'm sure you can understand why I'm interested in where you've been as a result.
[And gosh darnit.]
[Heather goes silent for a moment, and her expression, for once, isn't that juvenile sort of TRY AND MAKE ME TALK glower (or smirk, as it often is). She gives him an appraising look, her eyes narrowed and mouth set in an unreadable line. She's usually fairly easy to read, but right now it's... almost impossible to tell exactly what's going through her head.]
...
[... Finally, she speaks.]
You know much about cults, Cooper?
Some. But I haven't had to deal with any personally.
[He's heard his share of stories, though, and there was a lot of talk about it in the 70s. Being alive to see the reports on both the Manson family and Jonestown ... not to mention the controversy on brainwashing and the government's stance to it. But he figures she means something smaller and waits for her to possibly elaborate on it.]
Silent Hill's a place with something very wrong with it, and the cult that exists there is part of that.
The last cop who even tried to look into it wound up dead and as far as I know, nobody did anything about it since.
[And Cybil hadn't even been looking into the cult activity-- just the drug ring.]
[Looking back at Heather (having drifted for a second as he thought that over quickly), he tilts his head slightly, a habit that's many years old.]
Were you part of the cult?
[There's a few ways that Heather can answer that question, and she pauses before she decides. Alessa had been part of the cult... one of multiple children born into it and taught its ways like any other kid in a strict religious family. She hadn't been able to help it... neither had Claudia. But those memories left such a sour taste on her tongue that she'd rather slam her head in a door than call herself part of the cult.]
My biological mother was its leader.
[Or, in short, reality - who knows what's reality, anyway.]
[At her answer, he frowns, nods, a definite sympathethic air about him. Looks like Heather's been in worse than he thought, and yet he understands that he's only started scratching at the surface.]
But you got out of it. [It's not a question as much as an invitation to expand. He assumes. She strikes him as the kind that would.]
[She nods, in any case.]
Yeah. But it wasn't easy.
[Oh, she'll elaborate... within reason. But nonetheless, some answers are better than none. Especially considering how many months she's spent dancing around his occasional questions like a misbehaving dog with a stolen shoe deliberately jumping around right out of reach.]
[She probably knows this, but he's thinking out loud - and again, acting as a sort of friendly push - if that's an even remotely adequate description - to let her talk. He's not trying to make it an interrogation, but a dialogue.]
[She can tell he wants her to talk-- and it's a VERY good thing he's going the dialogue route, because there's no quicker way to shut Heather up (or start getting really sarcastic answers) than turn the discussion into an interrogation. But she's still not totally willing to start coughing up details just yet-- which is why she's going to offer up a test. Because the existence of the cult is just the wafer-thin surface of everything that is wrong with Silent Hill.]
[After all, cults existed all over the place, in various shapes and sizes. ... But there was a lot about the Order that most people would not believe.]
[How he responds is how she'll decide whether or not to say anything more.]
That's why I had to die first.
[He's been around death a lot. Death and insanity and evil, often hand in hand. But having someone come back to life, physically, is something he hasn't encountered before coming to Johto.]
[Then again -- he's talked to a dead girl and his dead mother brought him a gift a couple of years back. In the end, it's not a thing that is too farfetched for him to accept or believe.]
You died. [He repeats it to strengthen it in his head.] How did you come back alive?
You know that old myth about the phoenix, right?
[Of course he knows it. And while he prefers the buddhist way of looking at rebirth, it's a story with appeal.]
[The old self had perished, but not before handing Harry Mason a newborn child...]
...Fire and all.
[Video] I like how I come up with better answers after HOURS /edit
[He quotes it slowly to himself, not really intended for her ears, but he is the type to think out loud - and he regards Heather with a mixed expression as he does. Fire is a theme he's never been able to escape in Twin Peaks and that particular verse - well. Maybe there is a link between these two towns. It doesn't exactly seem farfetched right now.]
[A small pause, then:]
Heather, does the name Bob have any special significance to you?
[Video] I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL that's what happened with my last tag ffff
[But she doesn't ask about it. Not just yet-- even though her curiosity is piqued like hell. There was definitely something odd about Cooper and she wanted to find out about it... later.]
Bob? Not really.
Hung out with a guy named Bob for awhile in high school who made out with a pillow while high once and many laughs were had. But unless by 'significant' you mean 'had a dumbass friend once', then no.
[Video] A GOOD THING WE HADN'T REPLIED YET :Db
[It's probably a good thing that she doesn't know about BOB. It would indicate that she's either not a target (yet, if he's being pessimistic) or he doesn't exist in her space of reality. He hadn't really thought about it until now - there hadn't been a reason - but Heather is the kind of girl he'd go for. There's a definite resemblance to Teresa Banks in her - a bit of Laura too, sure. Something sets a little in his face as he absorbs this.]
No, not exactly.
[There's no point in asking her about his appearance. He made sure they knew his name, didn't he?]
[Instead, he goes back to the original topic.]
Looks like you got out of it okay.
[Video] YAAAAAY
[As for Cooper's BOB... god help any other supernatural entity that tried to slither into Heather's life at this point, because she's had it up to here with
these motherfucking monsters in her motherfucking lifeeldritch abominations and she's got the blood on her hands to prove it. But then, to be fair, BOB was a very different sort of beast than the ones she was used to killing.]For awhile, yeah.
But nothin' lasts forever.
[Even with Dahlia and Kaufmann gone, and the alliance between the cult and the hospital presumably destroyed with them, the cult had lived on...]
[And -- yeah. BOB isn't even physical, not in this world. You can keep killing his vessels off but you can't make him go away permanently - not in any way people know. If he's set on you you're ... in it for a hard time, likely. You can only hope you're not the one, but there's no way to know until he contacts you. And then what can you do, really?]
What happened after that?
[Her tone is sarcastically light.]
Well, my father was murdered, I was dragged into another delusional scheme to bring on the Apocalypse, I got a one-way ticket to the most literal form of Hell I can imagine without actually being greeted by a red dude with a pitchfork, and then I had to kill God to save the world.
You know. All in a day's work.
[Murdered, then. His frown only goes deeper the longer she talks until it transforms into a bit of a 'huh' expression at that last part.]
[He doesn't doubt her - he can tell she's telling the truth, but also that she probably doesn't want to linger on this stuff for too long. He breathes out slowly, leans back, pretty incredulous and not trying to hide it.]
You've been pretty busy.
