I imagine quite a number of you are taking the gym challenge, but I'm curious as to what reason. Boredom? Some kind of obligation? That it just might lead to a way home?

I'm not sure. Either way I recently earned my second badge and expect to head back to Goldenrod in the near future. [A small pause here and his voice takes on a wistful little note.] Am quite excited to return to Ilex Forest. I believe it will be a beautiful sight and an invigorating hike.

[Click! Both badges are obviously mod-approved. And action for anyone in Azalea - if you find him, he's hanging from a tree by his knees, kid-style, browsing his pokégear while doing so and ... looking quite comfortable. Any gear-replies will be done in this fashion, too. Have fun with that!]

_{[Jack glances around the more or less empty little town.]}

_{[Now, Cooper, behold the spectacle of an older man trying to climb a tree...who hasn't climbed a tree in a very, very long time. After kicking a bunch of bark back down to earth and scraping up his palms, Jack finds himself on a nearby branch.]}

I certainly hope getting-- getting down is easier than getting up.

_{[Oh yeah. Coop cringes a little with sympathy once or twice when it looks a little painful, but smiles quite warmly at his success.]}

As long as you got a bit of swing left in your back that shouldn't be a problem. If not I can always try to help.

_{[Jack hesitates before finally going upside down, but once he does, the rush makes him laugh.]}

_{[Then his glasses fell off and landed with a plop on the dirt below.]}

_{[He let his arms dangle.]}

_{[Glancing at those glasses.]} Want me to get those for you?

_{[Jack shakes his head.]} Nah, I don't need them to hang upside down.

Ha ha I haven't done this since I was alive! The first time!

_{[Jack, you're pretty cool.]} Not too bad, is it?

It isn't bad at all! I guess you could say it gives you a different perspective on things!

_{[ 8'D Jack, that was lame.]}

_{[Well -- lame or not, Coop enjoys puns. He makes an amused sound and looks over at Jack more fully.]} That's the idea. And they do say you should always consider things from different angles.

_{[After a bit, Jack decides to let go of the branch with his hands and just let his arms dangle.]}

Have you challenged the gym here yet? I'm thinking about it. I think I'm ready to move on.

_{[And this would be the point where Coop has too much blood in his head, so he reaches up, grabs the branch and hauls himself up on it, a little precariously but all in all with good balance. SITTING IN A TREE.]}

Yes, I got that badge yesterday. I've been meaning to head to Goldenrod tomorrow or the day after.

Oh! Congratulations, then! How was the battle? I've been told as long as you have flying types, it's easy.

_{[He nods and leans back slightly.]} Yeah, Holmes had quite a few opportunities to show off. I wouldn't call it easy, but it wasn't too bad.

Ha ha, Holmes. Owe that bird my life. _{[Jack thumps a fist against his chest.]} Or at least my sanity.

_{[Coop grins, mildly teasing.]} Never going through that cave again, are you?

They'll have to kill me first! And even then I'd still probably refuse.

_{[He folds his arms.]}

_{[...4th wall memories, hello! He's frowning at this himself, cause wait, wait. Hm.]}

Well I am, technically, but not at the moment. So they'd have to re-kill me and...

_{[Have they discussed this before? HE COULDN'T REMEMBER. He was...kinda dizzy.]}

_{[Yeahhh just give him a moment. He looks thoughtful and studies Jack quickly and then proceeds to think out loud, as he does.]}

Must be one of the fragmented memories left from the latest lost three days. I think I do recall you ... a skeleton, right?

Why, yes I... I am! I mean I was-- but. Yes.

_{[Jack's own memories of the glitch were fuzzy at best. He remembered getting yelled at a lot though. Maybe that was why. People tended to get upset when meeting people without faces.]}

You're not bothered by that?

_{[Dreams are important to Coop. He does his best to remember them, and the memories from those days manifested as dreams. He just hasn't sorted them all out yet, hence randomly popping up.]

[But ... yeah, anyway. He knows a skeleton. He sort of shrugs at the question.]}

Not really. We've got all kinds here, after all. _{[Actually, that's sort of excitingly interesting. He tilts his head slightly, a bit of a smile.]} Were you always a skeleton?

_{[Jack 's awkward grimace soon melts back into his usual smile. Well. That went better than expected!]}

As far as I can remember...but given that I only recently remembered how I died in the first place...probably not. I'm sure I was alive at some point. Possibly for a while. I mean, look.

_{[He gestures to the grey streak in his hair. Jack was by no means an old man, but he'd been around a while. And stress probably had something to do with it.]}
