Does anyone else play Tetris?

_{[Guess who finally discovered the game apps on his 'gear! And guess who's been playing the games ever since! Spoiler: this guy. Cooper sounds pretty excited, actually, in that almost kid-like way that the ones who know him will probably recognise. He speaks fast and chipper.]}

Damn good game. Very engaging, very challenging. I've yet to get past the 100 lines mark, but I'd very much like to believe I'm getting there.

_{[Beat. You know, sometimes he really doesn't want to be here, but this games-in-the-gears-thing certainly picked him up.]}

Falling puzzle pieces _[:D] ... that Minesweeper game isn't half bad, either. And if I've got my facts right there are more games available for purchase at the PokéMarts. So, Network: any recommendations?

_{[You should be able to HEAR the grin in his voice, seriously.]} Nothing like a good game to keep you occupied.

So you just...arrange the blocks?

Yes. To form a line and make them disappear.

It gets faster and more difficult the longer you play.

[ No response for several minutes, then: ]

I see.

[ COOP, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE. ]

This isn't bad.

_{[He's just spreading the Tetris love!]}

It reeally sucks you in, doesn't it?

I...yeah, it does. I better be careful, or before I know it it'll be November and I'll still be in Ecruteak.

You're in town?

Yeah. Traveling with Lightning; I'm getting the rest of the badges.

[ He reaches into his jacket. Look! The Fog Badge! ]

Congratulations. I've yet to go up for that one.

So who's Lightning? Anyone I know?

She's... [ A pause. He glances away. ] A good friend of mine.

_{[Hm. He lingers on that statement for a second, but then drops it with a grin.]}

Okay. So, is there any chance to meet up with you before you head on?

[ Cut that out, Coop. ]

Sure. You like coffee, right?

_[Never.]

"Coffee" is the magic word, Leon. There's a place I like near the Mart. That work for you?

[ A chuckle. ]

I'll keep that in mind. Meet you there in ten minutes?

_{[A nod and a small wave at the feed before he cuts it, and yeeep he'll be there a little ahead of time - he was close by - standing near a wall but without leaning on it, hands in his pockets.]}

[ It doesn't take long before Leon arrives, and with him is a tall, long-legged woman with pale skin and a fall of pink hair. Leon has the grace to look a bit sheepish as they come into Coop's presence. ]

Sorry, Lightning wasn't busy so I invited her along. Do you mind?

Not at all.

_{[He smiles easily at the pair of them before he directs it moreso to the stranger and offers her a handshake. He loves meeting new people - of course he doesn't mind, and it probably shows.]}

Pleasure to meet you.

Likewise. Leon's told me about you. It's nice to finally meet you in person.

[Maybe not much was told, but it was all good things. Lightning wouldn't be smiling faintly as she takes that handshake and returns it firmly otherwise. Coop..seems like a good man. Time to see where this will lead.]

_{[He glances over at Leon with a grin but returns his attention to Lightning with his next few words. Tone remains light and friendly, but there's juuust a little bit of what might sound like teasing in his voice, directed at the other man.]}

Then you've got me at a disadvantage. He only told me your name.

[ Leon purses his lips, wrinkling his nose at Coop. Hey now, you're going to get him into trouble. THEIR RELATIONSHIP STATUS IS SHAKY, OK. ]

...why don't we head inside?

[Lightning hears that note of something in Coop's voice and turns to smirk at Leon, ready with a comment about that, but the look on his face draws her up short. Finding out why Leon made that face has just become her top priority. Well. Second top priority; she'll be thinking on it over coffee, at any rate.]

We should, before it gets anymore crowded.

[Not that it seems to be very crowded today, but still. Best to move along, which is precisely what Lightning will be doing, still side by side with Leon when they make their move.]

_{[Nodding his agreement, Cooper enters first but lingers to hold the door momentarily, far from the kind to release it into other people's faces.]

[He's been here frequently the past few weeks. The coffee isn't as good as Cherrygrove or Goldenrod, but the chocolate cake is surprisingly good and definitely well worth the money.]

[Picking out a table near a window - round, four chairs - he shrugs his coat off to drape across the back of one of them. It's starting to show how much he's used that coat, lately, but he has a hard time parting from it.]}

So when are you planning on moving on?

[ Without really thinking, he pulls out Light's seat as well before momentarily taking his own. His jacket lands in the pile with Coop's coat. ]

That's a good question. [ Glancing at Lightning. ] Before the middle of October, I think. We wanted to stay and admire the leaves a bit.

[ Ecruteak is kind of gorgeous, after all. ]

[Lightning coat takes its place on the top of that pile as she takes her seat, nodding and smiling faintly at Leon as she sits down, returning that glance for a moment before looking over at Coop to answer the question.]

No later than the twentieth, I think. We'll need to get moving before the weather has a chance to get bad and lock us in here.

[Cause she doubts it would be as gorgeous under nine feet of snow or whatever else Johto will throw at them this time. Though, for now, she is content to stay put; it really is beautiful out there.]
