[It's probably been a while since the network heard from this guy. It's safe to say he's been preoccupied - between being lightly obsessed with Tetris, the Halloween possession thing happening (which actually affected him more than he cares to admit), the train hijacking and those three days ... he's had a lot to think about. And, in truth, still has.]

[But Christmas perked him up and with the new year just around the proverbial corner he's feeling like things just might get better, and you know what else never fails to lift his spirits?]

[Local wildlife.]

[That's right. So today the network is treated to a video of a group of trees. It's pretty early so the sunlight is warm and yellow and sparkles just so in the snow, and as the video sloooowly zooms in on one tree in particular ... you can see there's a Hoothoot snugly nestled in a hollow of the trunk, looking asleep and kind of ruffled up.]

[It's actually a very beautiful image, because Cooper has a tendency to catch them like that.]

[And then he zooms out. ...no, wait, he's zooming in again - a little closer this time, really focusing on that sleepy little owl. Despite his thing with birds, he can always appreciate them from a distance. And this little fellow is admittedly very cute.]

Look at that.

The spitting image of comfort. Right there.

[He sounds sort of breathless and utterly wistful, then zooms out again just for a pan of the scenery - snowy tree trunks and the little lake behind him. The water isn't all frozen yet so the sunlight gets to show off in the surface there, too, before Coop aims the gear back towards the bird and zooms in on it again.]

Almost makes you jealous, doesn't it?

[Action for anyone in Ecruteak! He's hanging out just on the edge of the forest, stalking the wildlife.]

[ Admiring the wildlife is something Talim can get behind. She wanders up behind him, boots crunching lightly in the remaining snow. When she speaks, she keeps her voice low, so as not to disturb any wild pokémon ]

It really is lovely, isn't it?

_{[He leans lightly against the closest tree, angling himself a touch so he can better face her in the process.]}

And yet it doesn't even begin to cover it.

[ She smiles, tucking her hands into her pockets. It's still cold yet, and she snuggles into her coat and scarf a bit more. ]

It seems like there's always so much going on, it's hard to remember to just stop and look every once in a while.

[ She looks out over the lake, angling her head as if she expects to hear something. She clearly doesn't because she lets out a small sigh. ]

_{[It is a beautiful morning. Talk about the perfect time to just... appreciate everything. The pristine landscape, the remarkable wildlife... It's the kind of day to just quietly think about all the quiet things that people too often overlook.]

[Heather Mason doesn't notice ANY of that.]

[She's too busy packing snow into a perfectly-sculpted sphere. And looking for a target.]

[A man who is entirely too focused on exploring the zoom function on his PokeGear?]

[Perfect target.]

[And Heather spends entirely too little time debating whether or not she should take advantage of that target.]

[Please enjoy a snowball to the back, Cooper. It couldn't possibly have come from that figure off in the distance who is clearly minding its own business.]}

_{[You know, Heather, that just really isn't a nice thing to do.]

[He had most definitely not seen that snowball coming so he's startled when it hits him, grip tightening around the gear when he whirls around, all kinds of instincts kicking in - he's been shot at too many times to not have that kind of reaction.]

[... but he relaxes fairly quickly when he spots a distinctly Heathery figure and rather quickly gets rid of the ALARM MODE to realize that hey, there's snow everywhere. Snowballs are a thing.]

[He pockets the gear and looks back to the Hoothoot in the tree - it didn't wake, so he steps away from it in case other snowballs will come his way. Ever mindful of what's around him, because he is that kind of guy.]

[Now ... the girl is too far away to directly communicate with, but he will attempt to get his message across by raising an arm high, hand in the stop sign, because he didn't come here for a snowball fight. (At least not yet. :I)]}

_{[Hm, what's that? Heather is clearly too busy minding her own business to be aware that anybody was watching wildlife nearby-- oh hello there Cooper! c: She didn't see you there.]

[In a deliberate misinterpretation of his gesture, Heather just turns and waves. MORNIN' COOP.]}
