Am starting to feel overcome by a familiar, dark, oppressive feeling. Fairly certain it is the onset of a depression, but at this time I am reluctant to label it as such. For the most part I feel haunted by a perpetual hopelessness. Feeling emotionally numb. Am not sure what to do.

Diane, I never thought I would say this without hesitation, but at this point in time I would like to go home. While my life there is significantly grayer and I would greatly miss my both pokémon and some of the people I have met in this world, I can't help but feel like I would have a lot less to lose. It is a much rarer event back home for people to disappear without warning.

Believe the last thing I said to Applejack was "talk to you later."

Diane ... I am finding it increasingly difficult to find some kind of peace in Johto. Ecruteak is doing little to distract me from these thoughts. Think I will try to find France.

Some believe it had to do with the phases of the moon rather than the moonlight, but I find it interesting that the moon seems to be tied to insanity regardless of the story.

[Sleeping at night was for people that weren't Otacon. The weather was manageable, Ecruteak was peaceful..it was all pretty nice. So he was out walking around as usual with a smile on his face and an Arbok trailing behind him.]

...It's kind of pretty, isn't it? I don't think I ever saw the night sky this clearly before I got here.

The lack of industrial lights probably help with that. The towns are much smaller here.

The moon's pretty closely tied with a lot of ancient rituals. Still influences magecraft as well, as far as I know.

But it's probably not going to drive you crazy.

That depends on your perspective, I suppose. In my experience nighttime is rich with both peace and violence.

Although, I always try to see the moon as something good. Whenever I see it, it brings back so many memories, both ones of happiness and ones of pain, aru.

I find the moonshine story to have more appeal. I think it was about as common as the beliefe that the phases were causing it a couple of centuries back.
